How to Plan the Best Bucks Night in Perth — Ideas, Activities and Products
How to Plan the Best Bucks Night in Perth
A great bucks night in Perth doesn't have to be expensive, complicated, or rely on a strip club to be memorable. The best ones are built around what the groom actually enjoys, with the right mix of activities, the right group size, and the right novelty products to set the tone from the moment everyone arrives. This guide covers how to plan a bucks night that works — Perth-specific venue and activity ideas, what to buy, and how to put it all together for a night the groom won't forget.

Planning the Perfect Perth Bucks Night
Start with the groom's personality, not tradition
The biggest bucks night planning mistake is defaulting to what seems traditional rather than what the groom actually wants. A groom who doesn't drink heavily and dislikes clubs will not enjoy a Northbridge bar crawl regardless of how well it's executed. The first conversation with the groom — or, if it's a surprise, with the people who know him best — should establish what kind of night genuinely appeals: high-energy vs relaxed, large group vs small, activity-focused vs drink-focused, day event vs night.
Perth venue considerations
Perth's entertainment is concentrated in a few key areas. Northbridge is the most densely packed with bars, venues, and clubs and suits groups who want variety and movement between locations. Fremantle is more relaxed with excellent craft beer options along the Fishing Boat Harbour and Cappuccino Strip. The CBD has strong cocktail bar options, particularly around Murray Street and the Ritz-Carlton precinct, for groups who want a higher-end evening. For day activities, the Swan Valley is Perth's standout option — wineries, breweries, and distilleries all accessible within 45 minutes of the city.
Numbers and logistics
The ideal bucks night group size is typically 8–15 for a venue-hopping format — large enough to feel like an event, small enough to keep moving without logistical chaos. For organised activities (go-karts, bowling, escape rooms), confirm maximum group sizes before booking. A party bus or pre-arranged transport between venues is worth the cost for groups over 10 — it keeps everyone together, removes drink-driving concerns, and becomes part of the experience.
Best man responsibilities
The best man's core job is logistics — venue bookings, activity timing, transport, and collecting money from the group in advance so costs aren't being chased on the night. The novelty products, games, and gags are the fun part; the admin underneath is what makes them work smoothly.
Bucks Night Themes and Formats
Classic bucks night — bar crawl format
A structured route through 3–5 Northbridge or Fremantle venues over the course of an evening, with a drink at each. Works best when there's a pre-dinner gathering point where novelty products are distributed, the group is in matching shirts or accessories, and the route is booked in advance rather than decided on the night. Novelty accessories — matching theme items, groom's sash or crown, gag items — are what make a bar crawl feel like a bucks night rather than just a group of men drinking.
Day activity + evening drinks
An afternoon activity — go-karts, axe throwing, bowling, brewery tour, surf lesson at Cottesloe or Scarborough — followed by dinner and a bar or two. Increasingly popular because it gives the group something to actually do together and creates shared memories that aren't just "we drank in a series of venues." Works particularly well for groups with varied drinking preferences.
Perth brewery and distillery tour
The Swan Valley has over 40 wineries plus craft breweries and distilleries including Feral Brewing, Houghton, and the Swan Valley Brewing Company. A self-guided or chauffeured tour with tastings is a genuinely Perth-specific experience that suits groups who want something more distinctive than a standard night out. Most venues can accommodate groups with advance notice.
Home event or private venue
A backyard barbecue, private function room hire, or home poker night keeps costs down, gives complete control over the environment, and works particularly well for groups with families or those who prefer a more relaxed format. This is where adult games and novelty products get the most use — the Beer Boobs drinking game and novelty decorations shine in a backyard or living room setting.
Adventure day
Perth's outdoor options are exceptional: surfing lessons at Scarborough, jet skiing, quad biking in the Perth Hills, paintball, skydiving at Jurien Bay, or deep-sea fishing charter. For groups who want a genuinely memorable shared experience rather than a drinking-centred event, an adventure format produces some of the most talked-about bucks day memories.
Activity Ideas Across Perth
Go-karting
Ace Kart in Malaga is Perth's most popular group go-karting venue and caters specifically to bucks groups with corporate and event packages. Competitive, immediately fun for all fitness levels, and produces a natural hierarchy of bragging rights that carries through the rest of the evening.
Axe throwing
Urban Axe Throwing in Osborne Park and similar venues have become a staple Perth bucks activity — easy to learn, satisfying to execute, naturally competitive, and the kind of activity that photographs well for the groom's social media.
Escape rooms
Perth has multiple escape room venues across the CBD and suburbs. Works best for groups of 6–8 who enjoy problem-solving together. A good mid-evening activity before transitioning to drinks.
Craft brewery crawl
Fremantle's brewery scene is one of Perth's best — Little Creatures, Gage Roads, Nail Brewing, and Mash Brewing are all accessible within a short walk or rideshare of each other. A self-guided Fremantle brewery crawl with food at one of the venues along the Fishing Boat Harbour is an excellent format for beer-appreciating groups.
Poker night
A home or private venue poker night combines competition, drinking, and banter in a contained setting that's easy to organise and suits groups of any age or fitness level. Pair with adult drinking games and novelty decorations for the full bucks experience.

Best Man Tips
Order early, not same-day
Sex Toys Perth dispatches same-day before 2pm AWST so urgent orders arrive fast, but ordering 3–5 days ahead removes all delivery anxiety and gives time to organise how products will be presented on the night.
Have one surprise for mid-evening
Keep one novelty item back for a mid-evening reveal when energy might be plateauing — pulling out the Beer Boobs game or the Plushie two hours in creates a second peak rather than front-loading everything at the start.
Brief the group on the itinerary in advance
A group WhatsApp with the night's plan, meeting time, dress code, and estimated costs removes the inevitable "what are we doing?" questions on the day and lets everyone show up prepared.
Collect money before the night
The single most common source of bucks night friction is chasing money on the evening itself. Collect the per-head contribution via bank transfer in the week before the event. Covering small gaps yourself on the night and sorting it later is far less disruptive than holding the group up at payment points.
Frequently Asked Questions — Perth
How far in advance should I order bucks night products?
At least 3–5 business days before the event. Sex Toys Perth dispatches same-day before 2pm AWST, but ordering ahead removes any delivery risk and gives time to organise presentation.
What's the best bucks night activity in Perth for a group that doesn't want a bar crawl?
